Penn (of Penn and Teller) on evangelism
Penn seems like a smart guy. I'm fairly certain he is based on the seeing him speak on tv or interact with people. I can't tell you how great this video is. You really need to watch it. Things that stood out to me was his description of the man who gave him a bible and his line "How much do you have to hate someone not to proselytize?"
What do you think?
Penn reminds me of several friends I have. I'd love to hear more of his story (from him, please don't email any links) and hear more about where he's coming from.
(thanks to Ed)

Excellent clip. If I could duplicate it and take it into Sunday School class with me, I would. I have a class full of people who, almost to a person, are convinced that they should only speak up after they've gotten to know someone very, very well--maybe for years!--and given them a chance to really see what a wonderful person Jesus has turned them into. When I point out that these same people will readily confess what rotten people they really are, and that this approach therefore might take years, and ask if it has ever actually worked, I don't really get any answers--but they still don't see the necessity of saying something.
I like that line, too. I will be using that.
