Rivendell TU:
It was a good experience this morning at TU. It was a great crowd, and we had some pretty good interaction. Steve Denton is the founder of Rivendell. He is the kind of guy I'd like to be my pastor. That's not a comment I hand out very often.
I'm glad that Rivendell allows for conversation in their services, between the person up front and the people all around. It always feels a bit ackward to talk with a group that you don't know. In preparation, you don't know what's been talked about before etc etc etc.
The people there were graceful and generous. I hope God worked in some way.
My good friends Jimmy and Amy Doyle (and the three kiddos) all came to support me.
It was good.

I didn't get to say this when I was there yesterday, but a shift in the way I think of how God thinks about us has been made. I always heard of "God's will" - you know, it being part of the Lord's prayer and all. But, I have to say, I left yesterday feeling excited and like I could ask God about the DREAMS he has for us, for me personally, for my husband and I's marriage, and for Tulsa as a community. Not that I won't continue to ask God's will be done, but to know His dreams sounds more intimate and more hopeful somehow for me at this moment in my life. God really spoke to my heart yesterday morning and the young man gave me a totally different perspective on the Ten Commandments. I was definitely one of the people who would have said, "Because God said so." :-)
Thank you for being part of our gathering. I've heard many people talking about the conversation sparked others further along.
