Billboard
I'm not a fan of churches using billboards. There's nothing sinful about it, but I have my reasons. I'm also not a raving fan of some of the ecclesiology of my friends at Lifechurh.tv . But this made me laugh.
I'm driving down the highway here in Tulsa. I drive past a church who has recently had a billboard saying "Exit here - God" for people to come to their church.
Lame.
Then today I read this red billboard.

Hilarious. Only in Tulsa. I laughed out loud for at least a mile.
Totally creative. Completely original. and very very funny.

i am in town...til Monday.
I go to lifechurch as a second church. While there is a lot of things I don't like about LifeChurch, the thing that I really, really like about LC is that (a) they have fantastic leadership. They know where they are going and how to get there. And (b) they try with everything they have to be relevant. Oh, and (c) my kid learns 10x in a single class at their church than he does at my primary church. Oh yeah, and (d) they meet at several times that make life a lot simpler than regular church.
Dislikes? Lots of them. My primary gripe is that their worship is more of a concert than worship. It's not the style of music -- I LOVE that. It's that I feel that everything is preplanned down to the second - every flash of light and every hand clap. That's not worshipping God, that's putting on a good show.
Anyway, I did enjoy that billboard and like it a LOT better than GUTS' (which I thought was perhaps a bit sacriligeous).
thanks for visiting crevo.
