Hope--This is the same type of rhetoric people said when President Bush became the President 8 years ago. He was known to be a unifer in Texas. It wasn't until he went to Washington did he have a log-jam when it came to unity. He was known for working with all people. Of course the war clouded that.
Obama will continue to support a woman's free choice at the cost of 1.4 million children being aborted. I know people say this is only one issue. But, it is a 1.4 million children issue.
I don't have "hope". In either Politician. I think that if it comes down to placing our "hope" (or whatever term you want to use) in an elected person to make things "better", we're in serious trouble. After all, what do we really expect/want from our government, that I can't do more effectively ourselves? I'm going to vote for the candidate that I think will screw things up the least.
I know, I know. It WAS funny. But this message, let alone the greater acceptance that a person (any person) will change lives for real from a political vantage point has really gotten me frustrated. It may be the height of irony, but it makes me want to run for office. Of course no one will vote for someone whose platform is "Take care of yourself" and spends all his time deconstructing govt. programs and slashing all types of spending in a massive way. DClark

I can't see much hope in that.
