Come on...I think he is referring to the question of "do you have a timeline" rather than the troops coming home. No one has a valid timeline for this.
Mark, you know better than to take a short snippet of one conversation to make a point that "speaks for itself." From his own experience in Vietnam, McCain certainly knows the value of getting troops home, and he's expressed it many other times. He has three sons in the military and his own youngest son has been to Iraq as a enlisted soldier (not an officer)--something he has barely mentioned.
Despite what this might sound like, I'm not a McCain guy any more than I'm an Obama guy...but this is "sound-bite" methodology that drives me crazy in approaches to politics today.
