UPDATED: Thanks to
Marko for being my blog's editor! :-) I've made a few adjustments. I am using his question for number 10 and I added and 11th question. "My blog going all the way to eleven!"
1. One book that changed your life: Ragamuffin Gospel by Brennan Manning - I read it in 1992 and it was the book that got me reading other books. Before that I rarely read anything. I remember looking in the endnotes and finding authors he cited. That's how I discovered Henri J.M. Nouwen and Fredrick Buecher.
2. One book that you’ve read more than once: In the Name of Jesus by Henri Nouwen
3. One book you’d want on a desert island: I'll go with "Boatbuilding for Beginners (and Beyond): Everything You Need to Know to Build a Sailboat, a Rowboat, a Motorboat, a Canoe, and More" by Jim Michalak
4. One book that made you laugh: Dress your Family in Courdoroy and Denim by David Sedaris is the funnies book I have ever read. Traveling Mercies by Ann Lammot made me laugh out loud often as well.
5. One book that made you cry: I don't cry. ever. but if i did. then I probably would have cried a lot reading, "What's So Amazing about Grace" by Philip Yancey. and probably "The Boy who believed in Magic" by Jim Hancock
6. One book you wish had been written: "The American Marketing Gospel Machine - How the Gospel has been coopted by Capitalism"
7. One book you wish had never been written: Growing Kids God's Way.
8. One book you’re currently reading: Contemplative Youth Ministry by Mark Yaconelli
9. One book you’ve been meaning to read: "Telling Secrets" by Fredrick Buechner and The Truth with Jokes by Al Franken
10. One book you’d like to write: "How Youth Ministry and the Church has Jumped the Shark"
11. One Book you wish you had authored: Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk and How to Ruin your Life by Ben Stein - both incredible books for very different reasons.
