People using facebook (for free), where do they expect the company to fund itself from? It's all about the money (nothing wrong with that). They don't offer these sites (myspace, facebook) because they are nice people, it's to earn as much money as possible.
Want to use someone's site and post all sorts of personal info, there is tradeoff.
This is no different than "shopper cards) that you receive discount for that the supermarket then sells the info for direct marketing.
Or the movie chain frequent movie goer card, where they track the movies you see to sell to the studio and direct marketers.
